?What if therapy doesn't work for me?

✎ It's natural to have reservations, especially if previous attempts at therapy haven't met your expectations. However, EMDR, IFS, and Somatic Experiencing are specialized modalities designed to address trauma at its core. Many individuals have found success with these approaches, even after other therapies didn't yield the desired results. It's essential to have an open conversation with your therapist about your concerns and collaboratively set achievable goals.

?I've tried therapy before, and it didn't help. How are these therapies different?

✎ EMDR, IFS, and Somatic Experiencing differ from traditional talk therapies by focusing on processing traumatic memories and the associated physical sensations. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation to help reprocess traumatic memories, IFS explores and heals internal parts that hold pain, and Somatic Experiencing addresses the body's stored trauma responses. These methods can offer new pathways to healing, especially when previous therapies haven't been effective.
